It is impossible for individuals in Board positions to complete all of the necessary tasks on their own. It takes many volunteers to run an organization the size of Decatur Dixie Girls Softball, Inc. To ensure that our goal of maintaining a fun atmosphere for the players is reached, we encourage you to volunteer for one of the committees that is chaired by a Board Member. Most of these require very little time on your part, but have a tremendous benefit to our league. Please consider volunteering for one or more of the following:
Auxiliary Committee
Publicity Committee
League Organization Committee

She's Just A Little Girl
She stands at the plate with her heart pounding fast.
The bases are loaded; the die has been cast.
Mom and Dad cannot help her, she stands all alone.
A hit at this moment would send the team home.
The ball nears the plate; she swings and she misses.
There's a groan from the crowd, with some boos and hisses.
A thoughtless voice cries, 'Strike the bum out!'
Tears fill her eyes; the game's no longer fun.
Remember - she's just a little girl who stands all alone.
So open your heart and give her a break.
For it's moments like this a woman you can make.
Keep this in mind when you here someone forget:

It is the policy of Dixie Softball to promote the development of strong character, a right attitude and a sense of responsibility and citizenship in youngsters, using the game of softball as a vehicle. It is the purpose of Dixie Softball to achieve this goal through fair play, good sportsmanship and congenial fellowship, with adult leaders providing the example. It is strictly against the policy of Dixie Softball for any person, either as a participant or a spectator, to engage in arguments, to use abusive language, to harass umpires, or to exhibit any behavior not in concert with the general intention of this policy statement. Team coaches are required to abide by this policy statement, and all parents and other adults are strongly encouraged to do so.
